This policy explains how Mackenzie & Co Automotive Pty Ltd (ABN 41 676 036 507), trading as Eastgardens Automotive, of 319 Bunnerong Road, Maroubra NSW 2035 ("we", "us") handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as a matter of good practice.
What we collect
- When you call, visit or book work with us: your name and contact details, your vehicle's details (including registration, VIN and odometer reading) and a record of the work we do and the payments you make.
- When you visit this website: our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information for security and to keep the site running, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use this to identify you.
This website has no forms, so we don't collect personal information through it. We only collect what we need to quote, carry out and keep records of work on your vehicle. You can ask about our services without giving your name, but we need your contact details to give you a quote or book your car in.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To book, carry out and invoice work on your vehicle, and to contact you about it.
- To keep the records we must keep by law, including tax records and records required under NSW motor vehicle repair laws.
- To remind you when your car is due for a service or safety check, if you have agreed to receive reminders. Every reminder tells you how to stop them, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not send marketing messages without your consent.
Who we share it with
- Netlify, Inc., which hosts this website. Netlify stores the technical information described above on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States.
- Service providers we use to run the business, such as our accounting, workshop management and messaging providers, only as needed to provide their service to us.
- Others when you ask us to or the law requires it, for example Transport for NSW for a safety check (pink slip), your insurer if you ask us to deal with them, or a government agency or court when legally required.
Where information is held by a provider overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider protects it in line with Australian privacy standards.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies of its own, and it does not use analytics or advertising tracking.
The map on our contact section is provided by Google Maps. It only loads if you press "Show map". If you do, Google may set cookies and collect information under the Google Privacy Policy.
How we protect it
We store personal information in secure systems with access limited to the people who need it. We keep records for as long as we need them for the purposes above and as required by law, then delete or de-identify them.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by calling us on 1800 288 611 or emailing eastgardensautomotive@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge to make a request.
